Magnificent Women Series: Jacqueline-Ramos-Pinto
Jacqueline chats to us about her The Bachelor journey so far.
1. What made you enter The Bachelor SA?
I entered The Bachelor SA to possibly find a love like that of my parents, they’ve been married for 32 years and are the very definition of true love.
I’ve also never been afraid of a challenge and have always been a go-getter, especially when it comes to love. I believe that my openness and optimistic nature will allow me to embrace the unique opportunity and stay true to who I am.
2. How has the experience been so far?
My expressive nature has led to my nickname in the mansion being ‘Jax panic’. Many of the girls have found this endearing. As strange as this may be, I’ve built some beautiful friendships with some of the ladies in the house which has been one of the biggest rewards through this experience.
So far this experience has taught me to never be ashamed of who I am and what I feel. It’s reinforced in me that we all have the right to feel any emotion we want, to do what makes us happy. I learnt that people can do great things before they’re ready, they can do things before they know they can do it. It’s definitely been a growing and unveiling experience for me.
3. What has been your highlight so far?
Where do I start? There have been so many. My highlight this far would have to be THAT smooch that took place on the Steam Punk themed group date. Looking back on it, it felt straight from a movie. It was passionate (sorry Dad) and so completely unexpected, everything around me faded away.
4. What is the 5 year plan for J.Pinto?
Not many people know this about me – I’m a Luxury brand owner. A massive part of my 5-year plan is circled around my company.
We’re a label that specialises in affordable luxury accessories, we’re able to add a luxury service such as monogrammed and gold-embossed personalisation. Our brand embodies a notion of understated sophistication at an attainable price point.
I’ve always loved personalisation and looking around, there weren’t many brands offering the service at an affordable price. I love all of the products we create and being able to add a luxury service such as personalisation and constantly expanding on these options offers our consumers something fantastic.
The inspiration for the range came from my love of high-end clothing and design. I was looking around and there wasn’t a product that was of the quality and buying experience that we had created.
Within the next 5 years I hope to have taken Dote Collection international, to have associated with many more corporate companies as well as to forge my way into the Bridal industry. I would also like to expand our range to include more products for men, corporate stationery, babies and pets (yes, them too). Speaking about babies, I would want to have one of my own. Id love the next 5 years to involve marriage, babies, and lots of love.
5. Describe your perfect date?
A date beneath the stars.
This would have to involve four of my favourite things: food (you’re speaking to a major foodie), Wine (obviously), conversation (I’m Portuguese, we do a lot of this), and lastly –because I’m a little bit of a nerd and love everything to do with astronomy….having a telescope present to gaze at the stars.
6. What is your ultimate goal in life?
There is nothing that I want more than to start my own loud and loving family. I’ve come from the most incredibly caring family, I’ve been witness to the purest and truest love between my parents. My ultimate goal is to know that I’ve provided my family with what I’ve been so blessed to have been apart of.
7. What is the one quote that you live by?
“Plant your own garden, and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers” by Jose Borges- it’s funny, but this quote applied so perfectly to my experience on the show.
I think there’s this alarmingly scary belief amongst the masses that relationships will fulfil an individual and make them whole. I’m a believer that, both within life and our relationships, it’s really important to remember that we are solely responsible for our own growth and happiness, and that the other person is responsible for theirs. I’ve realized that a relationship is about two completely separate people on two completely separate journeys – choosing to walk their separate journeys together. This to me is beautiful and it’s what I aspire to have within a relationship
