Model and TV presenter Lihle Nkosi has just been announced as a Top 12 finalist for the Miss Earth South Africa women empowerment platform for 2018.
Miss Earth is a leadership program that aims to empower young South African women with the knowledge and platform to create a sustainable difference in our plight to combat the destruction of our national heritage.
The program helps to create an awareness of sustainable development, our environment, wildlife and the conservation of our natural legacy in South Africa, and ultimately the preservation of Mother Earth.
Lihle is extremely passionate about the environment and she strongly believes in the fight against items that are not bio degradable.
“We have to protect our oceans and our communities, the horrible pollution and an overflow of plastic in our oceans are killing our people and the wildlife, this needs to change.”
Lihle just 21 has already a huge influence on social platform Instagram where she holds over 43 000 followers and it seems to be growing at a really great speed. A large number of her posts show her doing great humanitarian work but at the same time she posts about ways where the South African public can stop using plastic and use eco friendly alternatives instead.
“Miss Earth has given me the platform to push out a message I have always been so passionate about.”
