MAGNIFICENT WOMEN SERIES – PHETOLA MOKGOLO

As a dentistry student she plans to reach her humanitarian goal of changing the smiles of 50 000 strangers by 2035.

Women empowerment is on the top of the list for 23 year old dentistry student Phetola Mokgolo. “I want to inspire an entire generation of women in South Africa and Africa, I want them to understand their value and build up the belief that anything is possible. That they deserve respect and they can become anything that they put their mind to.” Mokgolo is inspired by other strong women, like Oprah Winfrey, Carol Bouwer and South Africa’s very own Nomzamo Mbatha.

She is known to be full of life, with tons of personality and a big heart. She finds inspiration in people, music and her family and is passionate about empowering young women, and serving. She is a firm believer of self-motivation. She completed matric in 2013 in the Limpopo province and furthered her studies in a bachelors in Dentistry at the University of the Western Cape to date, currently a final year student.

Her biggest purpose in life is to inspire and change the lives of others. She is part of the food security drive at the university which aims to supply food parcels to students who struggle financially and to those who do not have enough time to prepare lunch.

As a dentistry student she plans to reach her humanitarian goal of changing the smiles of 50 000 strangers by 2035.
